Robert Falcon Scott - An original Vanity Fair caricature published after his ill-fated expedition to the South Pole.

Entitled 'The South Pole' and by the artist 'Hester', dated 1913. Very scarce.

Richard D'Oyly Carte - Original Vanity Fair Print






















Richard D'Oyly Carte was caricatured by 'SPY' for Vanity Fair in 1891 by which time Gilbert and Sullivan were nearing the end of their colaborative career.
Vanity Fair in honouring D'oyly Carte and the construction of his new theatre, The Royal English Opera, which opened on the 31st January 1891, made special mention of that 'beneficient triumverate', Gilbert, Sullivan and D'Oyly Carte.

Horse Racing Caricatures

Vanity Fair produced thirty three caricatures of well known Jockeys from the late 19th to early 20th century. In addition they aslo published several double page supplements depicting famous horse racing venues

Dillon the Most Rare Vanity Fair Cricket Print

The rarest of all the Vanity Fair cricket prints. Published just before the demise of the magazine in the early part of the 20th century. Very scarce.

Edward Wentworth Dillon. Kent 1900-1923. Vanity Fair. 'The Champion County' by OWL and dated September 13th 1913. Men of the Day 2339. Original photolitho print.

' Kent's yearly bid for the County Championship dates from Mr. Dillon's acceptance of the captaincy in 1909. In that year and in 1909, Kent were champions. In 1911 they were second in the list, and in 1912, third. This year they are the champions once again.
Mr. Dillon began palaying cricket for Kent in 1900, when he was still at Rugby. He was in the Oxford Elevens of 1901 and 1902. His university career, like that of many other great men, was abbreviated'
