Original Autographs of Vanity Fair Characters

From a private collection we have over 100 original autographs by characters in Vanity Fair from 1869 to 1913. Also a small selection of others from the early 19th century. The signatures are in ink and were acquired from a private collection, guaranteed to be authentic.
Subjects include lawyers, judges, barristers, politicians, sportsmen, military, scientists, royalty and clergy.

Chevallier Tayler Cricket Book - 'The Empire`s Cricketers'

 

The Empire`s Cricketers: from Original Drawings By A.Chevallier Tayler with Biographiclal Sketches By G.W. Beldam, Season 1905.

All 48 Chromolithograph prints bound in 'The Empire`s Cricketers' book. 

Probably the foremost publication of cricket images in the early 20th century.  Drawn in chalk on dark paper by Tayler, these caricatures are realistic action studies, which sets them apart from other slighly less dynamnic illustrations. Subjects include W. G. Grace, Victor Trumper, C. B. Fry, Bosanquet and Iremonger.  Each image is accompanied a biography of the player.

A hard back book with a gilt embossed spine, image sizes: 375mm × 250mm
